Taylor Kalvelage

Taylor Kalvelage joined Berg Performance as a shophand after getting to know the business the way many on the team did: a customer turned employee. Out of a job at the time, Taylor received an unexpected call from Aaron who invited her to be part of the Berg team—an amazing opportunity she happily accepted. The potential that Aaron saw in Taylor was seeded long ago.

A daddy’s girl who formed an appreciation for the gear head world, Taylor bucked gender norms at a young age, starting with an affinity for dirt bikes and ATVs. Her father welcomed her on projects and dirt biking excursions growing up, opening Taylor’s eyes to experiences and skills many girls don’t get. Around the time of her high school graduation, a valet job opened them even further: cars became more than just a transport from points A to B, they were also a mode of enjoyment.

At Berg, Taylor functions as a swiss army knife of sorts, supporting the shop and technicians wherever she’s needed by assisting on projects, keeping the shop and cars clean, test driving on occasion, picking up parts, dropping off cars, and taking care of any odd projects that come up. During rare down times, she enjoys walking around and learning about what each of the Berg mechanics is working on.

Outside of work, Taylor is studying business management and Spanish as a student at CU Denver. A competitive swimmer throughout her youth, she has remained a very active person with daily workouts that include everything from visits to the gym and a yoga practice to enjoying the outdoors. In the summer, she still keeps her old passions alive through dirt biking and ATVing.

Taylor drives an APR tuned and APR exhaust 2019 VW Tiguan SE 2.0t, and has her sights set on an Audi SQ5 next. Her love for cars makes conjuring up a dream garage nearly impossible. That said, she settled on the Bentley Bentayga Speed and VW Golf R for jetting through canyons, aptly noting that it depends on the day—no good car fantasy is complete without the road and conditions you’ll be driving.
